First Devlog || Questions and Introduction

Hello everyone,

My name is Dalaz. This is my first ever game I am planning on making, Dotara has been an idea in my head for a very long time. I couldn't seem to figure out what I wanted to make of it, and I finally realized what it is and what it should be at it's final product. I am planning on making a playable version around 2023, I have had a lot of different ideas, the one I have settled on is a great one though. I will not spoil my intentions of what this game is but it sure is going to appeal to the Indie Game Community as a whole, in my opinion. Here are a few common questions you might have.

When did you first come up with this idea?

I came up with a rough idea of my game about 2-3 months ago. I wanted to make an Indie Game that was different from others.  Orginally, Dotara was supposed to be an average RPG game. However, there is something that makes the game seem a little off.

What are your inspirations?

I have a lot of inspirations of popular games I used to watch gameplays of YouTubers play, I can't tell the main inspirations as it spoils the game but it's basically the inspiration of Pokemon and Undertale.

When do you plan the release?

The release of the alpha is planned to come out in the span of 2022 or 2023. I think at that point, I will be using a game engine that I will be using for the final product (Probably GameMaker Studio). I will also have a lot of assets, it's going to take me a second to figure out pixel art, and art in general. I might get my good friend that is a great artist to help me create assets for the game, however, I want to learn this type of art for the future as well.

Will there be any planned haituses?

Not at the moment, but don't be surprised if there is any delay/haitus of mine for the game. I still have responsibilities to care of,  like school work, mental health, and other personal things.

How will you overcome obstacles?

I will overcome these by trying to get assistance from YouTube videos to help me with movement engines, interfaces, etc. Since I am probably going to be using GamerMaker Studio, I need to get used to the programming language and the actual engine itself. This might take a bit to get used to the syntax itself, however, I will try my best with errors and glitches in the game.

Also an add-on to the actual price of the game. The game is going to be free when the alpha is released, but the full released on launch week is going to be $2.50CAD and then $5CAD after the sale.
